you using the right shampoo?
How to know whether you should use a mousse or a gel As a general rule mousse is designed to help add volume to your hair. When using mousse you want to apply it on damp hair starting at the roots. Then work the product toward the ends of the hair. Concentrate the heat of your hair dryer at the roots first to get the most volume. Mousse is a great choice for fine hair or short styles that need extra body. It comes in a variety hold factors. Some brands are even available in spray form for easier application. Gel, in contrast to mousse, is designed for hold and control. It works well for thick, curly or wavy hair. It will give hold and definition to both short and longer styles. Gels range from thick strong hold, down to thin and light hold consistencies. With gel you want to apply onto wet hair; taking care to make sure it is evenly distributed throughout the hair. Style using a diffuser attachment on your hair dryer, or let the hair air dry for the best results. The right gel can make your curl or wave look beautiful. As with any hair care product, the staff at The Split End Salons can help you determine which would be the best styling product for your hair. Don’t hesitate to ask us; we are here to help you make your hair look its best! |
